We do not have a pet groomer for fur clipping services, but we do offer hydrobaths and nail clipping done by our veterinary nurses.

We offer a 10% discount for clients with a valid senior citizen card. This discount applies to our professional services and fees only; not applicable to items sold in our pet shop area or medications.  The card holder must be the owner of the pet.

We are required by law to examine each of our patients before we dispense any medications to be used in the treatment of illnesses or disease. This means we are not able to dispense prescription medications over the counter if we have not seen your pet for their current problem or within the last 6 months.

Yes we do. We have C5 and C3 vaccines available for dogs, Fe5 and Fe3 vaccines available for cats and Filavac annual vaccine for rabbits.

We do not offer overnight care. Patients who require constant overnight monitoring are referred to one of the emergency vet clinics nearby with the option to be transferred back into our care in the morning.
A script dispensing fee covers the veterinarian's time for writing the prescription and reviewing your pet's medical history. This fee ensures the professional time and expertise needed to provide your pet with appropriate and safe medication.

Yes. To get the precise measurements required for a PennHIP score, the muscles around the hips must be completely relaxed. General anaesthesia ensures your dog is comfortable and that the x-rays are of diagnostic quality.

Can any vet perform PennHIP x-rays?

Once the images are taken at KSAH, they are sent to the ANTECH Imaging Services headquarters in the USA. You will typically receive a comprehensive report comparing your dog's hip laxity to others of the same breed within 7 to 10 days.
No. Only Veterinarians who have completed specialised training and are PennHIP Certified are permitted to perform the procedure and submit x-ray images for evaluation. Dr Jess at Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital is proud to offer this certified service.
