Additional surcharge fees may apply if your pet is over 40kg, a brachycephalic breed (e.g. French Bulldog, Pug, Boxer, Persian, British Shorthair), a sight hound breed (e.g. Whippet, Italian Greyhound), cryptorchid, on heat, pregnant, or has a medical condition requiring a special care anaesthetic.

These prices are only for City of Stirling residents. To qualify, pet owners must provide proof of residency. If you are not located in the City of Stirling, please call us for a cost.

Microchipping is an essential step in responsible pet ownership, helping to reunite lost pets with their families. The City of Stirling and Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital are proud to offer microchipping, including registration with a nation-wide microchipping registry.

Please Note:

  • This service is separate from your dog or cat’s council registration fee.

  • Microchipping does not automatically register your pet with the City of Stirling.

Dog Registration

If your dog is not yet registered, we can assist with council registration at the time of your visit. We are able to process NEW dog registrations with the City of Stirling and issue your registration tag immediately. However for renewals of dog registrations, you will need to get it done directly with the City Of Stirling.

For cats, according to City of Stirling's requirement we can only provide the registration form which you will need to lodge directly at the Council's office.

All dogs over the age of 3 months must be microchipped and registered.  Your registration fee helps rangers reunite lost pets with their owners, contributes to the maintenance of the Animal Care Facility and supports ranger patrol services within the City of Stirling.

Pet registration concessions

Pet registration concession fees are available for residents who hold the following cards:

  • Pensioner Concession Card

  • State Concession Card

  • Commonwealth Senior’s Health Card together with a Senior’s Card

  • Veterans Affairs Card.

If you hold any of the concession cards above, you’re entitled to half-price registration fees on new one, three or lifetime registrations. Please note that Health Care Cards are not accepted.
