Puppy Preschool

Welcome to our Puppy Preschool, a vital part of our community service dedicated to promoting and nurturing well-socialised dogs!

Our program is carefully crafted by the expertise of our behavioural veterinarian, Dr Kristy Ta. Through a series of four weekly classes, we ensure a fun and informative syllabus that covers the latest in health and behaviour education for both you and your adorable puppy.

Classes are held every Tuesday from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, offering valuable tips on pet care and ensuring your puppy's overall well-being.

To participate, your puppy must be between 8 and 12 weeks old on the date of their first class and up to date with their vaccinations. We recommend waiting at least 10 days after their first vaccine before attending the classes. While your puppy doesn't need to have completed all their puppy vaccines, they must be current on their vaccinations. Please remember to bring a vaccine certificate with you on your first lesson, as we cannot allow attendance without it.

When coming to class, make sure your puppy is on a lead and wearing a collar.

To secure your spot, kindly contact our friendly receptionist, who will be more than happy to assist you in booking your puppy's place in our engaging and enriching Puppy Preschool.

What to expect?
Puppy preschool incorporates:

  • We focus on teaching your puppy essential training commands like Sit, Come and Drop, with patience and positive reinforcement. This sets them up for a lifetime of good behaviour.

  • Our primary focus is on training you, the owner. Regardless of your previous experience with dogs, there's a wealth of new and valuable information that you might not be aware of. Each week, we'll delve into different lessons, and you'll receive fresh material via email.

Throughout the course, we'll cover various essential topics such as responsible dog ownership, frequently asked questions, behaviour training, and even touch on veterinary care.

  • We place a strong emphasis on socialisation! Studies have demonstrated that dogs who haven't been properly socialised at a young age, typically between 8 to 16 weeks, might struggle to interact with other animals later in life. That's why our puppy preschool was established – to offer a safe environment for young pups to socialise with one another, even before they are fully vaccinated.

Regardless of whether you already have another dog at home, we highly recommend enrolling your puppy in our preschool. By interacting with puppies of various breeds and getting the chance to socialise with strangers, your furry friend will gain valuable social skills that will benefit them throughout their life.
