Dr Cindy Si  BSc BVMS

Dr Cindy graduated from Murdoch University in 2001. Throughout her career, she has gained diverse experiences that have led her to become the proud owner of KSAH. In the early stages of her journey, she worked at animal shelters and provided locum services for various practices in Perth.

In addition to her veterinary background, Dr Cindy ventured into the field of human stroke research and achieved a significant milestone by publishing a study on emergency stroke treatment in a respected scientific journal. This unique perspective contributes to her well rounded approach to animal care.

Dr Cindy has a special interest in soft tissue surgeries, excels in managing complex medical cases, and has a keen interest in ophthalmology. She maintains her commitment to continuous learning by attending regular courses and workshops, ensuring that she provides you with the most up to date medical advice and treatments available.

Outside of her veterinary practice, Dr Cindy is a devoted mother to her two energetic boys, Nathan and Aaron. She shares her home with her beloved rescue dog, Kylo. She loves tending to her indoor plants, travelling, hiking and savouring a good cup of coffee in her own time.

Dr Emma Sharples  BSc BVMS

Dr Emma graduated from Murdoch University and joined Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital in January 2010.

Driven by her passion for animals, Dr Emma takes pleasure in acquainting herself with the diverse range of creatures that visit the clinic. She finds joy in understanding their unique personalities and strives to ensure their long term wellbeing. Witnessing the remarkable transformation of animals with compromised quality of life back to complete health and vitality brings her immense satisfaction. With expertise in handling complex medical cases, Dr Emma adeptly addresses the overall health of her patients, considering their multiple ailments.

Outside of her professional endeavours, Dr Emma shares her life alongside her son Whn and twin toddlers. Nothing brings her greater joy than spending quality time with them, particularly at the beach.

Dr Kristy Ta  BSc BVMS

Dr Kristy had a desire to become a veterinarian since she was young. Her dream turned into reality when she qualified as a veterinary surgeon in 2018.

Passionate about all aspects of veterinary medicine, Dr Kristy has a special interest in animal behaviour. She has completed an extensive year long course in behaviour medicine to expand her knowledge in the field. Her ultimate goal is to assist animals in leading calmer and stress free lives. Dr Kristy runs our Puppy Preschool classes, which focuses on the latest in health and behaviour education.


Starting in 2022, Dr Kristy commenced Behaviour Assessment appointments. If your dog or cat is experiencing behavioural difficulties or struggling to adjust to stressors in their lives, consider booking an appointment to discuss further.

Outside of her veterinary pursuits, Dr Kristy possesses a keen enthusiasm for baking, as well as spending time with her Jack Russell x Chihuahua Koko, and her cheeky cat Wilson.

Dr Jessica Collier  BSc BVMS

Dr Jess graduated from Murdoch University in 2018. She was raised in the Perth hills where she developed a deep affinity for animals. From bottle feeding lambs to fostering various creatures, including kittens, possums, and nectivorous birds, her love for animals fueled her childhood aspiration of becoming a veterinarian.

Dr Jess’s primary area of interest lies in small animal medicine, and she actively pursues further training in this field to elevate the level of care provided to her patients. She is also dedicated to low stress handling techniques, particularly when it comes to working with anxious cats. 

During her leisure time, Dr Jess enjoys cross stitching and as well as outdoor activities such as hiking, swimming and rock climbing and she endeavours to balance these activities with her busy schedule.

Nico and Finn, two mischievous cats who were adopted as stray kittens, are the cherished companions who own Dr Jess's heart.

Dr Bronte Lygo  DVM

Dr Bronte is a graduate of Murdoch University. She is originally from Adelaide but decided to go to veterinary school in Perth and hasn’t looked back.

She grew up with a black labrador called Harry as a canine companion for her autistic brother. She has seen first hand how impactful animals can be on everyone’s life, and this fueled her love for all things animals and veterinary medicine.

Dr Bronte finds great joy in meeting the members of her community and finding connection through their pets. She has a particular interest in small animal medicine, and is hoping to gain further knowledge in this area to continue to help prolong the quality of life of your pets. 

Outside of the hospital, Dr Bronte loves swimming, reading and baking up a storm, which means we often get lots of yummy treats!

Emma RVN - Registered Veterinary Nurse/Head Nurse

Emma, a valued member of the Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital team since 2013, is a qualified and registered Cert IV Veterinary Nurse with a remarkable talent for connecting with feline companions. Her gentle and calming demeanour creates a welcoming environment where your beloved cats can feel truly at ease.

As a highly dedicated nurse, Emma continually advances her skills through ongoing education. Her unwavering commitment has earned her the role of Head Nurse, ensuring the hospital operates smoothly and efficiently each day.

At home, Emma has a delightful furry family: Clover, Fergus, and Crumpet, her cherished cats, and Alfie, a dog who arrived at the clinic in a distressing condition under the care of City of Stirling rangers. Within just two days, Emma decided to provide Alfie with a forever home, nursing him back to robust health.

When she's not passionately caring for animals, Emma embraces various hobbies. Playing footy, snorkelling, scuba diving, and exploring new destinations during her travels are activities she thoroughly enjoys.

Rhianna RVN - Registered Veterinary Nurse

Rhianna is a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse who completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at South Metropolitan TAFE in 2016. She is a much-loved member of our nursing team. Meticulous and attentive, Rhianna is known for her exceptional attention to detail and the gentle care she provides to her patients.
Outside of the clinic, Rhianna enjoys activities that support her wellbeing. You might find her gliding across the ice rink, tending to her indoor plants, or swimming at the beach. At home, she is kept company by her delightful ginger cat, Nemo.

Teaghan RVN - Registered Veterinary Nurse

Teaghan, a registered Veterinary Nurse, completed her training at Applied Vocational Training in late 2017. She initially gained valuable work experience at Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital, eventually becoming a cherished member of our team. Teaghan enjoys being the welcoming face at our front desk.

In her personal life, Teaghan shares her home with her husband, two children, and a delightful array of pets. Two feline friends named Loki and Astrid, as well as a feathered companion named Blue, complete their loving household.

​Beyond her dedication to veterinary care, Teaghan has various interesting hobbies such as Cosplay, drawing, immersing herself in pop culture, and caring for her hoard of rescued axolotls and other aquatic creatures.

Michie RVN - Registered Veterinary Nurse

Originally from Japan where she worked as a Veterinarian with dairy cattle for 8 years. However, it was during her time volunteering at a dairy farm in Australia that she developed a deep affection for the country and the people, leading her to make the decision to start a new chapter of her life in Perth. After completing her Cert IV vet nursing course at TAFE, she joined KSAH in late 2020. 

During her leisure time, she finds pleasure in pilates, cooking and making homemade bunny treats. Along with her beagle named Nagi, she also cares for two fluffy bunnies. Her compassionate nature often compels her to provide shelter for stray animals she encounters at the clinic.

Bunny patients hold a special place in her heart, and rest assured, they will receive excellent care under her watchful eye.

Sasha RVN - Registered Veterinary Nurse

Sasha is a Registered Veterinary Nurse who completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2022. She first joined the Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital team while completing her work experience and has since become a wonderful addition to our nursing team. 

Sasha loves meeting all of your furry family members and keeping an eye out for any new kitten patients that might need some extra cuddles.

Before becoming a veterinary nurse, Sasha volunteered at the Cat Haven, helping with the adoption process and making sure every cat found a safe and loving forever home. Since starting her nursing career, she has developed a special interest in feline dental health, as well as dog and cat behaviour.

When she’s not at the clinic, Sasha enjoys crocheting, cooking, camping, and spending time with her two cats, crossed eyed Crumpet and the fabulous Chelsea.

Maria RVN - Registered Veterinary Nurse

Maria completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing through Applied Vocational Training in late 2024 and was thrilled to join the Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital team after completing her studies. She loves being part of the KSAH family.

Maria loves meeting new people and pets, and making sure your furry friends feel safe and comforted during their visits. She particularly enjoys cleaning up after a busy day of procedures and has a special soft spot for greyhounds, hoping to welcome one (or many!) into her home in the future.

At home, Maria cares for her sweet one-eyed cat, Delilah, along with a few tarantulas, fish, and a growing collection of houseplants. An avid musician, she plays piano and guitar and sings in her church choir. Her creative side also keeps her busy with hobbies like tower bell change ringing, pyrography, mosaics, and just about any craft she can get her hands on.

Larissa - Customer Relations Officer

With her passion for cats and her experience in animal rescue, Larissa is an invaluable member of our team. She is highly knowledgeable about cat behaviour and is always willing to help clients with any cat questions they may have.

Larissa has hosted training nights (called “Kisses not Hisses”) with foster carers on how to help shy/scared cats becoming more comfortable in their temporary home. She has also trained many foster carers on bottle feeding and caring for neonate kittens. She has a soft spot for disabled pets with 2 of her 3 cats being blind.

In her spare time, Larissa loves to use her skills as a makeup artist to create art projects with her cats close by.

Kim - Customer Relations Officer

Kim graduated with her Veterinary Nursing qualification in New Zealand in 2001 and went on to gain experience in Queensland before completing her Bachelor of Business in 2008. Her career has taken her across the UK and South Africa, where she married and started her family, and she now brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our team.

Kim is passionate about animal welfare and regularly fosters senior and unwell cats and dogs from Cat Haven and Dogs’ Refuge Home. She keeps busy running donations to local animal shelters, fostering pets, caring for her three children, and advocating for the importance of desexing pets and responsible pet ownership.

At home, Kim shares her life with her two cats and a rotating cast of foster kitties. When she’s not caring for animals, she enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with her family.
