Dr Cindy Si BSc BVMS
Dr Cindy is a 2001 Murdoch University graduate who has an interesting range of experience leading up to taking ownership of KSAH. In her early years, she had worked at animal shelters and done locum work for various Perth practices before establishing her roots at KSAH for 7+ years. She then ventured into human stroke research and successfully published a study on emergency stroke treatment in a scientific journal.
Dr Cindy has special interests in orthopaedic and soft tissue surgeries, managing complicated medical cases and ophthalmology. She regularly attends courses and workshops to advance her skills and ensure that you are always getting the most current medical advice.
Cindy’s two very active boys, Nathan and Aaron, her rescue dogs Noodle and Kylo occupy most of her time outside KSAH. She loves carving out time to create greeting cards and have a good cup of rooibos cappuccino.

Dr Emma Sharples BSc BVMS
Dr Emma graduated from Murdoch University and started working at Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital in January 2010.
Dr Emma loves getting to know all the different animals that come into the clinic and learning the personalities of those we keep happy and healthy over a long time. It brings her immense satisfaction to see an animal whose quality of life isn’t very good being restored to full health and vigour. She is skillful at managing complicated medical cases, treating the overall patient while considering the multiple ailments they come with.
Dr Emma has two scruffy rescue mutts called Molly and Basil, and an active toddler named Wyn. She loves nothing more than spending time with them at the beach.

Dr Kristy Ta BSc BVMS
Born and raised in Perth WA, Dr Kristy had wanted to become a veterinarian from a very young age. Her dream became reality following qualification as a veterinary surgeon in 2018.
Dr Kristy enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, but has a particular interest in animal behaviour. She has just completed a year-long course in behaviour medicine to further her knowledge regarding the subject, in hopes of helping animals live a calmer and more stress-free life. Currently, Dr Kristy is also involved in teaching some of our Puppy Preschool classes, and is keen on trying to help out with any behavioural issues our young puppies may come across.
She will begin Behaviour Assessment appointments in 2022, so book in if your dog or cat is having behavioural difficulties or experiencing trouble adjusting to stressors in their lives.
Dr Kristy is also a keen baker and will enjoy any new recipe you might want to share with her.

Dr Jessica Collier BSc BVMS
Dr Jessica is a 2018 Murdoch University graduate who grew up in the Perth hills bottle-raising lambs and fostering everything from kittens to possums to nectivorous birds. Due to her love of animals she always wanted to become a vet from a very young age.
She has a passion for low-stress handling, especially when it comes to working with stressed cats. Her special interest area is small animal medicine, and she wishes to undertake further training in this field to provide her patients with a greater level of care.
In her free time, Dr Jess is an avid rock climber, climbing both indoors and outdoors. Around her rock climbing she has also taken up swimming and she tries to fit these activities around her busy schedule.
Dr Jess is owned by Nico and Finn who are two mischievous cats and were adopted as stray kittens, and Lily who is an epileptic toy-loving Border Collie cross.

Dr Sam is a 2018 Murdoch University graduate who grew up in Perth. After graduating, he spent several years working in a mixed practice in a semi-rural town in the southwest, before moving back to Perth at the end of 2020 to focus on small animal practice. He is enjoying every aspect of small animal medicine and surgery, and is busy doing professional development courses in his spare time.
Dr Sam has 2 cats, Spine Eater and Swashbuckler, which were adopted as kittens from stray litters which are extremely common in rural areas.
Some of his favourite activities are keeping fit, hiking, mountain bike riding, and playing golf.

Veterinary Nurses

Emma RVN - Registered Veterinary Nurse/Head Nurse
Emma has worked at Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital since 2013. She is a qualified and registered Veterinary Nurse who is our very own cat whisperer. Your feline companions will feel at home with her kind and soothing character.
Emma is a very dedicated nurse who constantly furthers her skills by undertaking continuing education. She has become our beloved Head Nurse and keeps the hospital running in excellent order every day.
Emma has four cats: Sophia, Clover, Fergus and Crumpet and a dog named Alfie. Alfie was brought into our clinic by the City of Stirling rangers in a very sorry state and within two days she had decided to take him home. She has restored him to great health since then.
Emma enjoys playing footy, snorkelling, scuba diving and travelling when possible.

Rhianna RVN - Registered Veterinary Nurse
Rhianna graduated from South Metropolitan TAFE in 2016 as a registered Veterinary Nurse. You may see Rhianna running our exciting Puppy Preschool on a Saturday morning. She has undertaken puppy behaviour courses and has carefully crafted our Puppy Preschool syllabus to ensure that her students get the most out of their time with her. Rhianna is also very meticulous and pays great attention to details when looking after her patients. She loves awarding in-patients with Patient of the Day awards, so look out for these when your pets come home from their hospital stay.
In her spare time Rhianna enjoys pilates, ice skating, taekwondo and looking after her indoor plants. Rhianna has a 5 year old ginger cat named Nemo.

Kaila RVN - Registered Veterinary Nurse
Kaila graduated as a registered Veterinary Nurse at the end of 2016 and started working at Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital in 2017. She originally came from South Africa where she had a large variety of pets and animals (including a pet monkey). She spent most of her schooling life up north in the Pilbara.
Kaila loves all the cheeky patients that come into our clinic, especially the small fluffy ones. She is our cleaning queen, always leaving the hospital spotless after her shift.
In her spare time she likes to stay active, hang out with her friends and go camping.

Teaghan graduated from Applied Vocational Training at the end of 2017 after doing her work experience at Karrinyup Small Animal Hospital. She is a qualified and registered Veterinary Nurse. She loves meeting and greeting you at the front desk, getting to know your fur babies and your family.
Teaghan lives with her husband, their daughter, cats (Loki and Astrid) and bird (Blue). Teaghan enjoys cosplaying, drawing, anything pop culture and spending her time caring for her hoard of rescue axolotls and other aquatic creatures.
